• Kansas University - Founded in 1866, crimson-tiled rooftops are visible from miles away. The campus, situated high on the Mount Oread bluff, is home to 26,000 students and is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful in the nation.
• Haskell Indian Nations University - The oldest inter-tribal university in the U.S... Opened as an industrial training school, it has evolved into a university. Haskell students come from 35 states representing 150 tribal nations and villages.

• Buffalo Bob’s Smoke House - One thing you can fairly well count on when eating at Buffalo Bob's — you'll get enough food to leave the restaurant absolutely stuffed, regardless of your appetite.
• Free State Brewery - Opened in 1989 as the first legal brewery in Kansas in over 100 years. They've done our very best to re-establish the tradition of fine hand-crafted beers, produced close to home.
• Johnny’s Tavern - Since 1953 Johnny's has been "Serving Up Tradtion," with its world famous hamburgers and longest runnin' tap in Lawrence. Johnny's is now a hot spot for sports fans as well as families.
• Waxman’s Candles - Each Waxman candle is made by hand, with more than thirty years experience behind every style and shape. The Waxman has made a life's art out of wax.
